Position Overview

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to work on high-power motor systems, controls, and custom test equipment. This role is hands-on and focused on electrical design, PLC programming, and system integration supporting complex aerospace testing applications.

You'll be working on systems tied to environmental controls, fuel systems, and propulsion-seeing projects through from design to real-world testing and commissioning while collaborating with a tight-knit engineering team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for high-power motor applications, including power distribution, protection, and thermal management.
  • Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems for automation and motor control.
  • Design, specify, and integrate data acquisition systems for monitoring performance, diagnostics, and validation testing.
  • Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials using industry-standard tools and practices.
  • Perform system-level testing, commissioning, and iterative refinement to ensure performance and safety requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical components and control logic.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including design calculations, test procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  • Provide technical support during installation, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site commissioning.
  • Apply industry standards, best practices, and safety regulations to all electrical designs and implementations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering with experience in high-power motor systems.
  • Proven experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) and ladder/FBD/ST languages.
  • Strong background in electrical design, including schematics, wiring, grounding, and protection systems.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, sensors, signal conditioning, and instrumentation.
  • Hands-on experience with system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of motor control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards (NEC, IEC, or equivalent).
  • Nice to have: experience in aviation systems, controls engineering, and mechanical CAD (SolidWorks).
