Job description

Summary

Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer โ€“ Power Systems to join a growing engineering consulting team supporting industrial and energy infrastructure projects across North America. This is a high-impact technical leadership role for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex electrical design challenges and leading projects from concept through execution. You'll support a diverse portfolio of projects in industries including Oil & Gas, Renewables, Distributed Power, Data Centers, and Power Generation, while serving as a technical lead, client partner, and mentor to engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead moderate to large-scale electrical engineering projects from concept through delivery
  • Serve as a technical lead and make sound decisions on complex engineering issues
  • Develop and oversee:
  • Power system designs
  • Control drawings
  • Engineering calculations
  • Technical reports
  • Project documentation
  • Design electrical service interconnections in coordination with utility providers
  • Prepare specifications for the procurement, installation, and testing of electrical equipment
  • Perform and/or lead:
  • Electrical system studies
  • Detailed design work
  • Design reviews
  • Field investigations
  • Technical reporting
  • Utilize engineering software such as SKM and/or ETAP for system modeling and analysis
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Identify project risks, scope changes, and technical challenges proactively
  • Support proposal development, cost estimating, and business development activities
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role
  • Direct experience supporting industrial facilities
  • Experience using SKM or ETAP
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, API, and AGA standards and recommended practices
