Job Position: Electrical Controls Technician
Job Location: Stone Mountain, GA
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Remote: ON SITE
JOB SUMMARY: Diagnoses and performs electrical and mechanical repairs on cup machines, inspectors, baggers, pre-expansion machines and conveyors along with repairing molds and performing change-over of molds. Plans layouts, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment. Controls and automation, PLC programming, and 110 to 480 Volt.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Diagnoses problems by inspecting and disassembling equipment to determine extent of repairs necessary.
  2. Performs electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and hydro repairs to the cup machines, inspectors, bagging machines, pre-expansion machines and conveyors.
  3. Uses drawings, diagrams, and operational manuals, manufacturing specifications, etc., when diagnosing problems and making repairs.
  4. Repairs electrical components, cylinders valves, pumps, motors, cooling tower, piping, boilers conveyors, baggers, pre-expansion and cup machines.
  5. Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical components are safe by testing with ohmmeter, batter and buzzer, oscilloscope.
  6. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit along with pulling the wiring.
  7. Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels
  8. Provides assistance to other Maintenance Mechanics while working on production machines and associated equipment.
  9. Notifies the Maintenance Lead about any needed repairs that are outside of their scope of responsibility or ability to repair.
  10. Perform work in a safe manner to include performing LOTO of equipment before making any repairs.
  11. Attend meeting and training session as required.
  12. Follow all GMP and sanitation guidelines along with maintaining a high level of personal hygiene.
  13. Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements, and sanitation guidelines rectify and or report any and all non-compliance to leadership.
  14. Follows WinCup OPERA Values, safety initiatives, and other related plant standards.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Lead or Maintenance Manager including special projects and working with outside vendors and contractors while on site.
  16. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
  • Ability to follow directives with STM leadership, managers, supervisors, in ensuring productivity and target levels are sustained.
  • Ensures all company policies and procedures including manufacturing and safety policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Collaboration with plant, safety, and leadership.
  • Ability to complete mandated new manufacturing training on equipment to maximize output efficiencies.
  • Supports all current and new product introductions.
Education and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four (4) years’ experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment repairing production machines.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude along with manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of 480 and 240/3-phase systems and 110 single phase.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English in order to complete job specific paperwork.
  • Ability to work independently and function as a team member.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift or powered industrial truck certification.
  • Good planning and organizing skills.
  • Must have own tools, volt-meter and amp probe (specialty tools provided by WinCup).
  • Work mandatory overtime, early morning, late evenings and weekends when required during busy season, inventory, and for vacation coverage.
Working Conditions:
The characteristics listed below are representative of the work environment typically encountered by an individual while performing the essential duties of a position in our manufacturing plants. Note that office positions located within our Manufacturing Plants often require some plant floor presence throughout the day so these work environment details may not always apply, they should still be noted.
  1. In-doors in a manufacturing and/or environment that is not air-conditioned.
  2. Exposure to extreme heat.
  3. Wear PPE while working which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
  4. May work 8 hour shift or 12 hour shift that begins at 6:50 a.m. for dayshift or a nightshift that begins 6:50 p.m.
  5. Required to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as needed.
  6. Subject to on-call activity to ensure equipment is functional.
Physical Demands:
The characteristics listed below are representative of the physical demands required by an individual to successfully perform the essential duties of a position in our manufacturing plants. Note that office positions located within our Manufacturing Plants often require some plant floor presence throughout the day so that while these demands may not always apply, they should still be noted.
  1. Work 8 or 12-hour shift while standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping and lifting throughout the entire shift.
  2. Requires the manual movement of cases of finished goods and other objects such as bagger film that weight up to 40 pounds.
  3. 100% tobacco free workplace on all Company premises. Designated outside smoking area provided and must be followed.
