Lonestar Integrated Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lead Shop Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and control systems design, with hands-on experience in control panel design and creation. This role will lead design efforts, support engineering standards, and ensure quality and consistency across all panel builds.


Responsibilities:

• Lead the design of control panels, including motor starters, VFDs, and auxiliary controls.
• Develop and review schematics and layout drawings using AutoCAD and EPLAN software.
• Specify components and create comprehensive bills of material for projects.
• Serve as the primary engineering resource for the shop, supporting technicians and resolving design-related questions.
• Perform and oversee quality checks on builds to ensure adherence to design specifications and standards.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, drawing practices, and documentation consistency.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and leadership to ensure successful project execution.
• Identify and communicate design improvements to enhance efficiency, cost, and build quality.
• Support project scoping and provide input on technical requirements and feasibility.
• Mentor and support development of other engineers and technical staff.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.


Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in control systems design and control panel design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or EPLAN for creating schematics and layout drawings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical components and their specifications.
• Experience in specifying components and creating bills of material.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of UL508A standards and requirements preferred.
• Experience with PLC programming and system design is a plus.
• Prior experience working in a panel shop environment is ideal.
• Familiarity with products and components from major manufacturers such as ABB, Rockwell, Danfoss, and SEL.


Physical Requirements:

• Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse conditions that are not always climate controlled and may include heat and humidity.
• Noise level may be loud at times.
• Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
