Job description

We are looking for an Electrical Estimator who is seeking a Long-Term, Full-Time position with a growing Family Business based in Ashland, VA. The Candidate should be someone who is capable of taking a set of drawings or scope of work & putting together Estimates/Bids with the use of Estimating Software (McCormack). We are a small to medium sized Electrical Contractor & perform a range of types of projects within the Commercial & Industrial Sectors.

The posted Pay Range would be determined by strength & experience of the candidate for this position. We do offer opportunity for employees to improve & move upward during their tenure with us knowing that your success is our success!

Our preference is to find someone with experience with Electrical Estimating, has either a Journeyman or Masters License, and/or has Electrical Field Experience. Not all of these are requirements, but all are beneficial for the position.

We do have Team Members in place who are happy to assist with any new hire to get them up & running to where they can be successful in their role here.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Prepare written Estimates, Bids, Quotes, & Scope of Work for Electrical Projects
  • Negotiating Bids for Projects
  • Use of Estimating/PM Software (McCormack)
  • Prepare Scopes & Gather Pricing from subcontractors, Vendors, & Suppliers for Packages (Lighting, Gear, Equipment).
  • Manage & Meet Bid/Quote Deadlines
  • Serve as Point of Contact on Bid Day
  • Build & Maintain Relationships with Customers, Vendors, Suppliers, & General Contractors
  • Meet with New & Existing Customers & Help with their Project Needs (Pre-Bid).
  • Knowledge of up to date pricing for Materials/Commodities
  • Drawings & Specification Takeoffs
  • Determine Equipment Costs
  • Transition/Hand-off Estimates to Project Management Team
  • Coordination with Office Team prior to Bids
  • Maintain Log of Bids & Award Status
  • Determine Schedule & Duration of Projects

We are also a growing business & we pride ourselves in the quality of our work with highly capable & motivated supervision & manpower in the field who are able to see the projects to the finish line. We generally target work that is local to Richmond Area as an added benefit to employees to minimize any travel or time away from home. We do believe in the 'All Hands on Deck' Mentality, where we are happy to help each other out when they need a hand.
