Job description

We’re hiring an Office Administrator for our established electrical company based in New York (Yonkers area or nearby, with work primarily in the NYC metro region).
Position: Office Administrator (Part Time Remote )
Company Overview:
We are a growing electrical contracting company providing residential, commercial, and service electrical work across the New York area. We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented professional to support our office operations and help keep our projects running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
•  Handle daily office administrative tasks, including answering phones, managing emails, greeting visitors/contractors, and maintaining organized filing systems (digital and physical).
•  Create and manage schedules for technicians, projects, appointments, and service calls using calendars and planning tools.
•  Work extensively with Microsoft Excel to build and update schedules, track job progress, create spreadsheets for time tracking, material orders, invoicing support, and basic data entry/reporting.
•  Perform general computer tasks (proficiency with Windows, email, Google Workspace/Microsoft Office suite, and basic file management required).
•  Assist with ordering office and job-site supplies, processing basic paperwork (permits, submittals, contracts when needed), and supporting project managers with administrative needs.
•  Maintain accurate records, coordinate with field teams, and help ensure smooth communication between office and on-site electricians.
Requirements:
•  Proven experience in an office administrative, receptionist, or coordinator role (1–3+ years preferred).
•  Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (creating schedules, using formulas, pivot tables a plus, but at minimum comfortable with data organization and spreadsheets).
•  Solid computer skills and comfort learning job-specific software.
•  Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
•  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•  Reliable, professional, and able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
•  Familiarity with construction/electrical industry terminology or administrative processes is a plus (but not required—we can train the right person).
What We Offer:
•  Competitive hourly rate based on experience (please include your salary expectations when applying).
•  Opportunity to grow within a stable, local electrical business.
•  Supportive team environment.
