We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Certified Electrical Engineering Technologist (CET) to join our growing team. This role combines technical expertise, problem-solving, customer support, and project coordination to help deliver high-quality electrical solutions to our customers.

Position Summary

The Certified Electrical Engineering Technologist will provide technical support for electrical power distribution equipment, assist with product selection and troubleshooting, prepare quotations, and support customers and internal teams throughout the sales and project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, excellent communication skills, and experience working with low- and medium-voltage electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

Provide technical expertise related to electrical power distribution equipment.

Review customer specifications, drawings, and electrical requirements.

Assist customers in identifying replacement and retrofit solutions for obsolete equipment.

Troubleshoot electrical equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.

Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Sales & Customer Support

Support the sales team with technical product recommendations.

Prepare technical quotations and proposals.

Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, applications, and specifications.

Assist customers with equipment selection, compatibility, and system requirements.

Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

Project Coordination

Coordinate customer orders from quotation through delivery.

Work closely with operations, warehouse, and production teams to ensure project requirements are met.

Monitor project timelines and communicate updates to customers.

Assist with quality assurance and testing documentation when required.

Product & Equipment Knowledge

Maintain knowledge of circuit breakers, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, relays, and related electrical equipment.

Stay current with industry standards, codes, and technological developments.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.

Qualifications

Required

Certified Electrical Engineering Technologist (CET) designation or eligibility to obtain designation.

Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical power distribution, industrial electrical systems, or related industry.

Strong understanding of circuit breakers, switchgear, motor control systems, electrical distribution equipment, and electrical drawings/schematics.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally if required.

Preferred

Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems.

Experience in electrical equipment sales, applications engineering, or technical support.

Knowledge of CSA, ESA, and applicable electrical standards.

Experience with ERP systems and CRM software.
