Job description

Serves as a senior Vehicle Electronics and Architecture (VEA) Engineer responsible for conducting, monitoring, directing and coordinating research, design, development, integration, and engineering activities on military ground vehicle electrical power systems and electronic architectures.
Essential Job Functions
Coordinate with project management offices to align acquisition schedules, integration costs, and requirements for Army and/or Marine Corps vehicle electronic architecture development.
Develop high-level vehicle electronic architectures and strategies for integrating VEA technologies onto ground vehicles.
Conduct research, trade studies, market surveys, and technology assessments related to electrical power systems and components.
Prepare and manage program plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and technical documentation for electrical power and integration efforts.
Review contractor performance and provide technical recommendations on electrical power components, system designs, and architectures.
Participate in and monitor testing, modeling, and simulation activities to verify performance of electrical power systems and subsystems; recommend corrective actions as needed.
Remain current on domestic and international electrical power technologies and apply industry advancements to assigned programs.
Author statements of work (SoWs) for vehicle system integration and oversee contractor execution.
Support resolution of programmatic issues within the ground vehicle office.
Coordinate the development and synchronization of vehicle electronic architectures to support future network capability sets.
Prepare and deliver status briefings to Project Management and Program Executive Offices.
Manage documentation and activities needed to support project management duties.
Provide oversight of contractor-developed electronic architectures and support integration of Government-furnished systems.
Required Skills
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering plus a minimum of 8 years of experience with networked systems engineering.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War (DoW) Secret clearance.
Experience developing vehicle electronic architectures.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment to lead and support integration efforts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate solutions to competing requirements.
Commitment to providing high-quality support and customer service to Government stakeholders.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Experience interpreting user needs and DoD requirements documents to define system development or integration efforts.
Ability to travel to customer and contractor sites and test centers (approximately 10%).
Willingness to work 100% on-site at the client location.
Desired Skills
Working knowledge of Vehicle Electronic Architecture/Vetronics and related software on DoW ground combat vehicles.
Experience with electrical, computer, or systems engineering on DoW ground combat vehicles or C5ISR systems.
Experience working with organizations such as MCTSSA, PEO LS, MCSC, GVSC, CPE CL, CPE C2IN or related Army PM offices.
Understanding of the DoW acquisition process.
