Position Overview

As a Commissioning Electrical Superintendent, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the safe, efficient, and high quality commissioning of major electrical systems on large industrial projects. You will guide pre commissioning and functional testing activities, ensure system readiness, and coordinate closely with engineering, construction, vendors, and operations teams to support successful mechanical system turnover.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily safety meetings and ensure full compliance with all electrical safety procedures, including LOTO and permitting.
  • Coordinate and oversee precommissioning, commissioning, and startup of major electrical systems (power distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, grounding and control systems).
  • Conduct electrical system walkdowns, identify deficiencies, and ensure systems are ready for testing and turnover.
  • Supervise and support functional testing, including insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, grounding verification, breaker testing, and system energization.
  • Troubleshoot electrical system issues and implement corrective actions during commissioning.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and OEMs to meet electrical system readiness and performance requirements.
  • Track system progress and provide clear status updates to commissioning and project leadership.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning documentation, including electrical checklists, test records, redlines, and turnover packages.
Qualifications
  • Experience in precommissioning and commissioning of largescale electrical systems, including power distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, grounding, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams of approximately 20 electrical and instrumentation technicians through system turnover and commissioning phases.
  • Familiarity with completions software and electrical system readiness workflows used during electrical commissioning.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills to effectively work across construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to meet electrical system readiness milestones.
