Description
Horner Industrial Group, a family-owned and operated company for over 75 years, is looking for a dedicated Electric Motor Winder to join our team. We repair and rewind a wide range of industrial electromechanical equipment and take pride in quality craftsmanship, safety, and serving our customers with excellence.
Summary
The Winder is responsible for rewinding and repairing AC/DC motors, generators, armatures, rotors, transformers, coils, and related electromechanical components. This role includes dismantling, data collection, rewinding, insulation, testing, varnish processing, and final quality checks in accordance with EASA and company standards.
Job Responsibilities
  • Rewind AC/DC motors, armatures, rotors, transformers and coils
  • Perform equipment inspection, failure analysis, and data documentation
  • Use diagnostic tools such as megger, hi-pot, phase balance, and core-loss testers
  • Disassemble units, collect winding data, and strip windings without core damage
  • Re-stack or repair cores when required
  • Insulate, wind, tie, connect, and form new coils/windings
  • Perform brazing, soldering, or welding on copper, aluminum, or steel
  • Complete all pre- and post-testing and maintain accurate records
  • Apply varnish (dip & bake) and complete final equipment testing
  • Follow all safety procedures and assist other departments as needed

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical/mechanical repair experience or EASA/military training
  • Experience rewinding AC and DC motors (fields, armatures, rotors) preferred
  • Ability to read and follow instructions, collect data, and perform basic math
  • Skilled in diagnostic testing and troubleshooting
  • Ability to use cranes, forklifts, and standard shop tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
