General Responsibilities:

Plans, manages, and executes activities for multiple projects to ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame by performing any combination of all essential duties and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

This position will be part of the xEV Regional Production Engineering (PE) group for Hybrid and Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for activities and support for Electric Motor programs. The Motor Production Engineer will establish specifications, equipment, processes, quotations, and other documentation for programs related to electric motor products. Also, this role will identify synergy potentials across programs and establish and apply best practices to drive cost effective solutions.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Broad engineering skills, including knowledge of mechanical design, automation, control systems, robotics, pneumatics, optical inspection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Computer literacy with both personal computers and manufacturing systems, including knowledge of standard office software (MS Office) and programming experience.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor other engineers and technicians.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate, data-driven decisions and utilize excellent structured problem-solving skills.
  • Well organized, attention to detail, and able to handle multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Excellent communication skills to prepare and present information to all levels of associates, management, and customers both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to support the corporate culture with an absolute focus on ethics and fairness.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Work experience within the automotive industry, with emphasis on electro-mechanical devices and/or electric motor production.
  • Experience working in a machine builder/automation equipment integrator environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant quality systems, i.e. IATF 16949, and standard automotive engineering and manufacturing documentation, including DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and standard work instructions
  • Certification in structured problem-solving methods, i.e. Six SigmaKnowledge of Electric Vehicle (EV) components and traction motor manufacturing processes.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and implementing new manufacturing lines or processes.

Education:

4-year university degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related technical field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 - 5 years of applicable experience

Job level determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.
