Red Butte Garden is looking for candidates to assist with the setup, breakdown, and maintenance for all outdoor concerts and select events in Red Butte Garden's Amphitheatre. The position does not have a regular work shift, and exact schedule will vary weekly depending on event and concert schedules. Concert and event season is from May through October and will typically require an 8 - 12-hour shift. Morning, evening, and weekend shifts are required. Anticipated start date is mid-May.

Responsibilities
  • Provide venue setup and event support for outdoor concerts and select events.
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of tasks during each of the seasonally scheduled concerts and events
  • Will attend to any event related maintenance or related needs that arise
  • Concert Duties include venue setup and breakdown (barricades, tents, chairs, waste stations, etc.,) directing vendors, waste removal, responding to maintenance emergencies, and supporting custodial staff
  • Qualified candidates must assure duties are performed in a manner that preserves the high-quality standards of Red Butte 

Physical Requirements and level of frequency that may be required
Often: standing, sitting, listening, talking, walking (sometimes on hilly, uneven terrain), driving trams, bending, reaching overhead, and lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Event Support Specialist, I: Requires little to no related experience.
Event Support Specialist, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
Preferences
-This is an entry-level position.
-Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
-Six months of related experience.
-Event setup experience.
-A commitment to being an active and respectful team member. 
-Attendance for the majority of concerts.
-The capacity to work efficiently in a variety of outdoor conditions, including wind, rain, and high and low temperatures.
-The ability to act with discretion while working with or around members of touring parties and performing artists.
