Your Role: Manufacturing Scientist/Technical Services Intern - Elanco Technology Center (Summer 2027)
As a Summer 2027 Engineering Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Technical Services Manufacturing Sciences (TSMS) Lab team at our Elanco Technology Center (ETC), to deliver a practical solution to reducing analytical variability, a manufacturing technical project, or implementation of new lab methods. Interns will have exposure to many career paths and diverse subject matter experts as many projects have network-wide impact.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Understand the Animal Health Manufacturing process, document using GMP guidelines, and understand the importance of the Quality Unit

  • Work within cross-functional teams to implement process or Quality Control lab improvements

  • Learn about fermentation, product recovery, product finishing, or quality control

  • Study design improvement processes

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a Biology (Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology or other related) or Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering major

  • Top Skills: Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Must be able to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision

  • Previous laboratory experience
