The NISC IV program at Leidos is looking for an Occupational Safety Health Analyst to work in:

  • Longmont, CO; Auburn, WA; or Salt Lake City, UT!

  • Palmdale, CA; Reno/Sparks, NV; El Segundo, CA; or San Diego, CA!

  • Rancho Cordova, CA; Oakland, CA; or Spokane, WA!

  • Honolulu, HI; Anchorage, AK, or Fairbanks, AK!

The selected candidate will:

  • Take effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state Occupational Safety and Health standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all required records are prepared and maintained.

  • Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.

  • Conduct safety training courses based on work procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position will support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Western Service Area (WSA) Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health (EOSH) Program, and assist the Safety and Environmental Compliance Managers (SECMs) throughout the Western Service Area’s seven (7) Districts.

  • The candidate will participate in EOSH investigations related to potential accidental releases, mishaps, and employee complaints, as requested by the SECM.

Travel estimate up to 50%

Please Note: Selected candidate must be able to work onsite and reside in one of the following locations:

  • Longmont, CO; Auburn, WA; or Salt Lake City, UT!

  • Palmdale, CA; Reno/Sparks, NV; El Segundo, CA; or San Diego, CA!

  • Rancho Cordova, CA; Oakland, CA; or Spokane, WA!

  • Honolulu, HI; Anchorage, AK, or Fairbanks, AK!

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated hands-on (a/k/a boots on the ground) experience in four or more of the following program areas: Asbestos Sampling, Lead Sampling, Occupational Safety & Health Compliance, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Drinking Water Sampling, and/or Indoor Air Quality/Mold Sampling.

  • Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office and MS PowerPoint.

  • The position requires the candidate to travel approximately 25% – 50% in support of the Western Service Area’s seven (7) Districts.

  • Bachelors degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience OR Masters with 2+ years of relevant work experience.  Additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted/considered in lieu of degree. 

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks). 

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current or prior certification in any of the following areas is a plus: Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Asbestos Contractor/ Supervisor; AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector; Certified Lead Professional; or Lead Inspector/ Risk Assessor.

  • Able to be fit-tested, wear a respirator; and be enrolled in a Respiratory Protection Program (if hired).

  • Able to meet all requirements necessary to climb structures, and complete tasks in support of the Fall Protection Program.

  • Forklift Operator / Forklift Instructor; Aerial Lift Operator / Aerial Lift Instructor; and/or Scissor Lift Operator / Scissor Lift Instructor experience, are desired.

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or an Associated Safety Professional is highly desired, but not required.

  • Highly developed presentation skills, comfortable conducting training classes, self-motivated and proactive team player, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Please Note:  The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $85,000 to $100,000 with slight wiggle room (no guarantees) based on relevant experience and assessment.  Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
