Summary:
Senior RF wireless engineer who can design, analyze, and optimize complex wireless networks by conducting predictive and pre/post physical site surveys, leveraging cutting-edge tools such as Ekahau and spectrum analyzers. Candidates need to have exceptional design and optimization capabilities, proven field survey expertise, strong project management skills, and a commitment to meticulous documentation.
Responsibilities:

  • Design, analyze, and optimize complex wireless networks by conducting predictive and pre/post physical site surveys, leveraging cutting-edge tools such as Ekahau and spectrum analyzers.
  • Proactively troubleshoot performance issues, ensuring outstanding signal propagation and compliance, while executing strategic capacity planning and seamlessly integrating with existing infrastructure.
  • Engage in RF planning, conduct in-depth data analysis, and collaborate effectively across teams to align technical solutions with overarching business objectives.
  • Candidates with exceptional design and optimization capabilities, proven field survey expertise, strong project management skills, and a commitment to meticulous documentation.
  • Experience in support of wireless infrastructure.
  • Propose changes to existing policies and procedures to ensure operating efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in production issues and incidents and participate in problem and change management forums.
  • Review enterprise diagrams and recommend wireless related enhancements.

  • The candidate should have knowledge of protocols like DNS, DHCP
  • Communicates and consults with technology personnel and advisory groups to administer network wireless infrastructure.
  • Build trust and develop effective working relationships between Core technology team and constituencies ensuring the office's programs and standards are implemented in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Operates and maintains wireless networks, tracks significant problems, monitors performance, and performs upgrades to hardware and software as required.
  • Trains technical staff at the system and building level to follow proper operating procedures necessary to maintain the integrity of the network.
  • Defines and Maintains documentation regarding wireless network configurations, operating procedures, and service records relating to wireless hardware and software.
  • Maintains certification in wireless network technology such as Cisco or other relevant technology, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  • Has strong understanding of cabling standards, IP address management, VPN, Firewalls, network security, wireless and network management platforms.

 
Required Technical Skills

  • RF Principles: Possess a profound understanding of RF propagation, antenna theory, and cutting-edge wireless technologies (4G, 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi-7).
  • Experience with WiFi-7. - This is the must required on this role.
  • Surveying Tools: Expertise in utilizing advanced spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, TEMS, and industry-leading survey software (Ekahau, Acrylic,) for comprehensive site surveys and in-depth data analysis.
  • Design Software: Proficient in leveraging RF modeling and simulation software (Visio, and AutoCAD ) to drive innovative solutions.
  • Network Design: Proven ability to strategically design networks for data, voice, and RTLS, while optimizing and troubleshooting RF systems to ensure exceptional coverage and capacity.
  • Access Points Catalyst CW9176I (Indoor), CW9176D1 (Directional), CW9179F (Large Venue).
  • Wireless Controllers Catalyst CW9800M (Mid-Scale), CW9800H1/H2 (High-Scale), C9800-CL (Cloud).
  • Cisco 3800 series Wireless Access Points and Cisco 5500, 5700, 8500 Wireless LAN Controllers
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN/Wireless infrastructures, topologies, and protocols
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and applications, such as DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, Multicast, SNMP, NetFlow
  • Strong in troubleshooting different OSI layer issues and performance analysis by using sniffer tools.
  • Possess a profound understanding of RF propagation, antenna theory, and cutting-edge wireless technologies (4G, 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi-7).
  • Expertise in utilizing advanced spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, TEMS, and industry-leading survey software (Ekahau, Acrylic,) for comprehensive site surveys and in-depth data analysis.
  • Cisco Catalyst Center (On-Prem/Cloud), Cisco Spaces (Location Services).
  • Cisco Client, Cisco Secure Access (SSE), Cisco Umbrella.
  • Proficient in leveraging RF modeling and simulation software (Visio, and AutoCAD) to drive innovative solutions.
  • Proven ability to strategically design networks for data, voice, and RTLS, while optimizing and troubleshooting RF systems to ensure exceptional coverage and capacity.

 
Education/Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field, providing a solid foundation for technical expertise.
  • Experience: Over 5 years of hands-on experience in RF survey Engineering, with a substantial emphasis on field surveying in complex hospital and office environments, coupled with design proficiency and project leadership.
  • Certifications: Highly regarded certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or CWNP (Certified Wireless Network Professional) strongly preferred.
