About the Role:
As a Stormwater Staff Engineer at Contech, you will play a key role in maintaining our civil engineering client relationships by assisting them with the design and implementation of Contech's Stormwater products. Your responsibilities include:
  • Consultative Approach: Present project-specific solutions to civil engineering clients, providing quality design calculations, basic layouts and drawings, and expert advice to seamlessly integrate our products into site plans. Address inquiries from civil engineer clients and provide feedback and design assistance through plan reviews and interpretations. Offer guidance on local stormwater regulations.
  • Project Management: Manage and track projects in the design phase, ensure all project data is current and communicated to team members. Be prepared to assist with projects at all stages when necessary.
  • Specification Development: Collaborate directly with specifying civil engineers to develop secure product specifications.
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with both field and internal teams to meet stormwater quality, quantity, low-impact development, and runoff reduction objectives, as well as stormwater drainage and system layout requirements.
  • Market Expansion: Coordinate with Regulatory Services to identify opportunities in new markets, enhance our presence in existing markets, and drive the highest specification for water quality supported by the region.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Prior experience in civil site projects with an emphasis on stormwater or drainage design preferred.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office products, AutoCAD proficiency is a plus.

Preferred:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) depending upon experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil site projects with an emphasis on stormwater or drainage design.
