Engineering, Health and Safety Intern
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Engineering, Safety & Health Intern will support the company's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program, with a primary focus on reviewing and updating EHS procedures, policies, and documentation. This role will work with EHS, Engineering, Operations, and HR to make sure procedures are accurate, current, easy to understand, and aligned with safety requirements.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Review and update existing EHS policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Identify outdated or missing safety documentation and recommend updates.
  • Research OSHA and other applicable safety requirements.
  • Work with employees and leaders to ensure procedures reflect how work is actually being performed.
  • Help develop new safety procedures, checklists, forms, and training materials.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining EHS documentation.
  • Support safety audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with safety training and employee communications.
  • Support other EHS, engineering, and continuous improvement projects as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Comfortable researching information and writing procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Able to work independently and communicate with employees at all levels.
  • Interest in workplace safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Combination of office and warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Must be comfortable walking through operational areas and wearing required PPE.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
