Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Manager or designee, performs neurodiagnostic EEG procedures.

Responsibilities:
* Performs EEG recording according to the standards of the laboratory
* Measures and accurately apply electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10-20 System; ensure that electrode impedances meet laboratory standards.
* Writes a patient history by gathering appropriate information from patient, patient's record and family members to include seizure types, date of last seizure, other neurological symptoms, and medications
* Explains the test procedure to patient and family members present.
* Establishes rapport with patient and family and maintains safe testing environment.
* Implements alternative methods or adjusts parameters to obtain optimal recording. This may include appropriate control setting changes on the machine, use of extra electrodes, montages, monitoring techniques, and use of activation procedures.
* Recognizes artifact (patient or environmental); documents, eliminates and/or takes proper measures to monitor the artifact.
* Troubleshoots equipment problems, repair them if possible. Report via ticket for repair to IT&S or HTM as appropriate, and report to supervisor promptly.
* Maintains clean and safe work environment, reporting environmental concerns or issues in timely manner as appropriate.
* Participates in staff meetings.
* Maintains and advances own education in neurodiagnostic by continuing to seek ongoing education and credentials.
* Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE
* At least 1 year Typically require at least 1 year of experience or completion of CAHAAP Accredited EEG program or ABRET recognized EEG certificate program Pref
* Experience working in Neurodiagnostics in a hospital setting Pref
EDUCATION
* High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school Req
* Graduate of an Electro neurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education or ABRET recognized END Program. College education (AS or BS) in a science area will be considered Pref
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
* Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Req
