Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Registered Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technologist will work remotely to provide Continuous Long-Term Monitoring. This role is responsible for conducting and managing long-term neurodiagnostic monitoring, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and accurate data interpretation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Conduct remote long-term neurodiagnostic monitoring, adhering to established protocols and standards
• Establish and prepare medical record documentation in accordance with hospital and SpecialtyCare policy.
• Conduct periodic trending analysis and/or data review per facility policy and procedures.
• Transfer data between local and network drives for data review and permanent storage when necessary.
• Provide physicians and other clinical staff members with periodic updates, data summaries and assist as requested regarding EEG and the patient's clinical condition per facility policy and procedures.
• Report critical test results to the neuro critical care physician, nursing staff, and/or supervisor and document this communication according to facility and SpecialtyCare policy and procedures.
• Monitor (shift) report summarizing number of events, types of events, precautions necessary, additional procedures ordered and any other relevant information which is available for review by staff caring for the patient.
• Read, understand, and implement all policies and procedure guidelines.
• Ensure the integrity and maintenance of remote monitoring equipment and software. Inform appropriate individuals of equipment condition and general needs as necessary.
• Participate in both evening and weekend call duties on a rotation with colleagues

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Certified as Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG)
• Certification in Long Term Monitoring preferred
Experience:
• Three (3) years or more of related experience
• Prior EEG reading experience
• Equivalent combination of education and experience, acceptable
Knowledge and Skills:
  • High level of communication and documentation required for patient care.

• Understands computer operations and networking, when applicable, sufficient to do basic troubleshooting/report to information technology support services.
• Ability to work quickly and proficiently under stressful conditions.
• Knowledgeable of the rationale and indications for ordering EEG studies in a hospital ICU setting.
• Competence in deciphering artifacts from cortical activity.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to clearly speak, write and understand English.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in routine and/or emergency situations.
Pay Estimate: $22.02 - $35.19 / hour (Several factors, such as specific skill set, education level, certifications and years of experience, are considered to determine actual compensation.)
