Job description


Inova Children's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing pediatric team.
Inova Children's Gastroenterology is a team of 13 physicians and 3 advanced practice providers dedicated to caring for a diverse population of children with gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional disorders.
Inova Children's Gastroenterology includes multi-disciplinary programs that support feeding and growth challenges, aerodigestive disorders, eosinophilic esophagus, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, parenteral and enteral nutrition, intestinal rehabilitation, and liver disease. The division supports conventional endoscopic procedures, as well as complex procedures including advanced endoscopy.
Integrated clinical services supporting the Inova Children's Gastroenterology division include:
  • Integrated outpatient non-oncology infusion center
  • Integrated aerodigestive clinical space
  • Sedation-free in-office testing, including transnasal endoscopy and anal manometry
  • Dedicated behavioral health support (psychologist and psychiatrist) to support complex and chronic patient needs
  • Dedicated pediatric dietitian
  • Specialty pharmacy integration and clinical pharmacist support
  • Inova Children's Complex Care integrated care management model
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a nationally recognized children's health system and contribute to the continued expansion of comprehensive pediatric specialty care throughout Northern Virginia. This full-time position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: For Nurse Practitioners: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post-masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing; For Physician Assistants: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Licensure: Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License(depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances).
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start
  • Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
  • Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
