Under the direction and supervision of a registered pharmacist, a pharmacy intern with a valid NYS intern permit may perform the functions of a pharmacy intern. These functions include preparing, compounding, and dispensing prescriptions and medications for patients of Highland Hospital (Neonate, Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric) in accordance with all applicable departmental policies and procedures as well as all state and federal laws and regulations for pharmacy practice.
Salary Range
$23.70 - $27.20 an hour
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Job Requirements
  • Education: Matriculated pharmacy student in an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy, or has been awarded a degree in pharmacy (BS or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Experience: Hospital experience preferred.
  • License/Certification Required: The candidate must also possess a valid NYS Pharmacy Intern permit within 90 days of the date of hire.
  • Skills: Position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and independent judgment and decision making.
