General Summary:
The SAP Development Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating SAP development activities across multiple site implementations of SAP S/4 from legacy ERP systems. This role will have a dotted line to the global development lead and involves collaborating with global and regional SAP development teams to ensure harmonization, technical governance, and high-quality solutions aligned with business needs. The SAP Development Manager will oversee developers consisting of SI partner resources, 3rd party resources, hiring additional development resources as the project progresses to build a regional development group, and ensure compliance with SAP best practices and technical standards.
Job Summary:
The SAP Development Manager will play a key role in driving the development and optimization of SAP solutions within the organization. This position requires strong technical expertise in SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, and related technologies, as well as the ability to collaborate with global and regional teams. The ideal candidate will ensure that all SAP developments align with business needs, maintain system integrity, and adhere to best practices. Additionally, this role will support multiple SAP rollouts and contribute to the continuous improvement of SAP applications.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Global SAP Development Lead and global specialists for governance, technical decisions, and project status.
  • Work closely with regional SAP development leads to maintain harmonization across the landscape.
  • Coordinate local developers and SAP development efforts.
  • Support the development and adjustments of SAP functionalities based on project needs and functional specifications.
  • Train, coach, and manage a team of IT professionals in SAP development
  • Interpret, analyze, and address business requirements using SAP best practices while ensuring compliance with technical standards.
  • Create and validate technical documentation related to SAP system developments.
  • Provide expertise in SAP HANA architecture and data modeling.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality SAP solutions using ABAP, HANA, Fiori, UI5, BTP, and other relevant technologies.
  • Utilize Solution Manager and CHARM for change management.
  • Estimate technical effort for SAP development tasks.
  • Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and governance teams in SAP development domains.
  • Participate in multiple SAP S/4HANA rollouts within the organization.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and Ability to communicate effectively with business customers as well as IT leadership.
  • Excellent analytical skills to develop concepts and facilitate decision making.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team management and facilitation experience
  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure tasks for a manufacturing/ automotive industry.
  • Business acumen- keeping up to date with technology evolution and Industry trends.

Technical Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Fiori.
  • Proficiency in ABAP, HANA, CDS Views, SAPUI5, BTP, RAP, CAP, OData Services, JavaScript, and BOPF.
  • Familiarity with SAP Workflow (preferred but not required).

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in SAP development.
  • SAP S/4 HANA experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Experience working on complex IT projects in close coordination with business customers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in working with SAP implementations is highly desirable.
  • Experience in working with automotive manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Experience working with an IT incident management system (ex. ServiceNow/SOLMAN)

Working Conditions
  • Open to travel up to 50%, including extended stays for project implementation.
  • Ability to work in a professional setting, adhering to company and regulatory safety requirements.
