Digital Content Producer - City Journal (California)

Location: New York/California (remote work is also an option)

Manhattan Institute for Policy Research (MI) is a community of scholars, journalists, and civic leaders who are united by a shared commitment to advancing economic opportunity, individual liberty, and the rule of law in America and its great cities. We are seeking a like-minded Digital Content Producer who will focus on amplifying digital assets across the social media landscape. 

The producer will work with MI Senior Fellow Christopher F. Rufo and Jordan Chamberlain, Manager of Rapid Response.  In this role, you will be responsible for amplifying City Journal's content by creating, editing, and packaging multimedia content for distribution across platforms like X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.

A successful candidate will be a creative video editor with strong organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about using digital tools to expand the reach of serious policy ideas.

The goal is not only to reach a large audience, but to make real and immediate change by reaching decision-makers. Understanding both the social media landscape as a whole and having fluency within each individual platform is essential to success.

Required qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in video editing, social media content production, digital media, and broadcast clipping.
  • Advanced proficiency with video editing software
  • Experience with media monitoring and clipping tools
  • Deep understanding of short-form video trends and platform-specific algorithms
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative storyteller with a strong visual eye and ability to turn complex ideas into short-form video content
  • Familiarity with the work of CJ and MI, and a desire to work in support of MI's mission

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$140,000/year. The salary offered to a candidate will depend on skills, experience, and education.
