Job description

**This is NOT a seasonal job. We are looking for a committed individual who can work1PM to 6PM Mondays thru Fridays (5 days a week) including Summers. DO NOT apply if you are not able to work these hours**. Please note that we are located in Bellevue, WA near Hidden Valley Park.
Start Pay: $21.00 (sign on bonus after 90 days of $200)
Shift: Monday to Fridays 1PM to 6PM or 2PM to 6PM including Summers

When accepting a position with Bellevue Montessori School, Activity Club Program, Assistant agrees to aid the teachers in working toward these goals, and to collaborate with the staff in providing a nurturing environment. The Assistant facilitates the comprehensive development of all students by interacting positively, confidently and respectfully with all children, families and staff members.
Role: Activity Club Assistant P/T
Campus: MAIN / ROSSANO
Program: Early Childhood (ages 3 to 6)
Reports To: Marnie Stromseth, Coach/Trainer
Daily Hours: Monday to Friday - 10AM to 6PM, 1PM to 6PM or 2PM to 6PM
Positions Open: 6x
Start Date: ASAP (Urgently Hiring) and into the Fall school year of 2026-2027
Start Pay: $21.00 per hour ($200 Sign On Bonus after 90 days)
Job Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and rotating of activities, books and art supplies
  • Assist with drop-offs
  • Knowing and following health & safety procedures
  • Preparing and providing snacks for the children
  • Offering assistance to children, only when necessary per the Montessori way
  • Engaging in conversation with children to increase their opportunities for language
  • Using positive discipline techniques to help students gain self-discipline and learn how to settle their own disputes using conflict resolution skills
  • Leaving the classroom clean and ready for the morning including using the three-step process to clean and sanitize the tables and chairs
  • Loading dishwasher, laundry, and ensuring closing duties are met
  • Follow BMS policies and procedures including keeping up to date with DCYF requirements and continuing education
  • Assist in other areas such as covering breaks, filling in at the front desk if necessary, assisting in other classrooms

Education and Experience:
  • High School graduate or equivalency or at least 18 years of age
  • Qualified candidates must have prior experience working with children in a professional or semi-professional capacity. Comparable experience includes nannying, babysitting, camp counseling, or working in a classroom setting. Please note that candidates without prior experience working with children will not be considered for this role.
  • Experience working with Google drive and other platforms
