Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Assessment and Evaluation (CARE) Unit

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is seeking a Registered Nurseto join our Cardiac Assessment and Evaluation (CARE) Unit at Baystate Medical Center, a Magnet recognized hospital for Nursing Excellence.

Our state-of-the-art Cath Lab includes four cardiac catheterization labs and one neuro lab, supporting approximately 4,000 cardiac and neurovascular procedures annually. Our nurses work collaboratively in scrub, monitor, and circulator roles with comprehensive orientation, experienced team support, and opportunities for professional growth.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

  • 25-bed unit providing pre-procedural care and post-procedural moderate sedation/anesthesia observation for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and neurovascular procedures.
  • Provides care for both outpatient and inpatient populations before and after procedures.
  • Dedicated room for Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) procedures.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of4:1, with staffing aligned withASPAN standards and practice recommendations.
  • Fast-paced, collaborative environment requiring strong teamwork and communication.
  • Comprehensive, individualized orientation provided by experienced CARE Unit staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Massachusetts RN license

  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification

  • Minimum one year of RN experience required

  • ADN required; BSN preferred

  • Critical care or Cath Lab experience preferred

SCHEDULE

  • Full-Time:12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Shift:9A-9P
  • CARE Unit Hours: 6:00 AM-9:30 PM; call-back coverage may be required as needed through 9:30 PM.

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
