About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with a local school district in Visalia to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to Middle School students.ย Applicants must have completed an Associateโ€™s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.

We are hiringย English and Math Tutorsย to support students in gradesย 6thโ€“8th. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community.

An in-person background check is required.

Pay & Benefits

  • $22โ€“$26 per hour, based on education and experience

Schedule

  • Mondayโ€“Friday availability required
  • Must be available betweenย 3:00 PM โ€“ 6:00 PM

Requirements

  • Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)
  • Experience working with children or tutoring preferred
  • Comfortable tutoringย Middle School Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
  • Ability to manage small groups independently
  • Comfortable working in a classroom setting
  • Ability to pass anย FBI-DOJ in-person background checkย (provided by HeyTutor)
  • Spanish Bilingual is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Tutor small groups of Middle school students without direct teacher supervision
  • Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials
  • Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment
  • Support positive student behavior and participation
  • Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard
  • Assist with student assessments when requested
  • Escort students to and from designated areas on campus
  • Clock in/out daily using Deputy
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
