About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with a school district in Miami-Dade County to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to elementary school students. We are looking for exceptional Spanish-bilingual tutors who are passionate about helping students overcome academic challenges and reach their full potential.

This is more than a tutoring role. You’ll have the opportunity to be a changemaker for students who need additional support the most. Our tutors work directly with students who may be significantly below grade level, helping them build foundational math skills, confidence, and a stronger path toward academic success.

Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s Degree.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for tutors who bring strong instructional skills, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to student success. Candidates with prior teaching or classroom instructional experience are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate is someone who can walk into a classroom, connect with students quickly, adapt to what they need, and make a meaningful difference every day.

Our strongest tutors are:

  • Reliable and accountable — consistently on time, prepared, and committed to the full program schedule
  • Adaptable — comfortable adjusting to different students, grade levels, groups, schedules, and instructional needs
  • Coach-able and collaborative — receptive to feedback and able to work within MDCPS instructional expectations
  • Student-centered — patient, encouraging, and able to build positive relationships with students who may be struggling academically
  • Strong communicators — able to explain elementary math concepts clearly and in multiple ways
  • Responsive instructors — able to differentiate instruction and use modeling, visuals, scaffolding, and checks for understanding
  • Professional and organized — able to independently manage attendance, materials, transitions, and daily responsibilities

If you are someone who believes that every student can make meaningful academic progress with the right support, encouragement, and instruction, we want to hear from you.
