Classified Substitute Staff are essential members of the school community, providing dependable, flexible support in the absence of regular classified personnel. Job Description / Essential Elements:
CUSTODIAN
JOB SUMMARY
Custodian, under supervision of the Supervisor of Maintenance/Operations/Transportation and Site Principal or designee; perform a wide variety of routine and responsible tasks relating to the custodial and maintenance operation of a school site.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Application of:
District policies and procedures as they apply; Methods and practices of cleaning and repair of District equipment and furniture; Operation of tools and equipment used in all phases of school cleaning; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Proper methods and operation of equipment and tools used in custodial work.
Ability to:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION

1.Perform a wide variety of non-technical custodial services and repair tasks; interpret and apply rules and regulations as appropriate
2.Maintains school equipment and surfaces throughout the District
3.Maintains a clean, orderly work area. Cleans, vacuums, sweeps, waxes, and maintain classrooms and other instructional areas
4.Operates a variety of cleaning equipment, tools, and machines
5.Washes chalkboards, windows, walls, and blinds
6.Maintains custodial equipment and supplies
7.May perform limited grounds maintenance work
8.May help in the kitchen as required
9.Performs related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required; One (1) year of building custodial experience preferably in a school setting.
Conditions of Employment:
Possession of a valid California Drivers License required
Salary Range: Q - Classified Salary Schedule
