Aceable

Austin, TX โ€ข On-site, Remote

Job description

ABOUT THIS POSITION

As our LX Editorial Content Manager, you'll play a central role in helping Aceable students earn their licenses and reach their next life goal — by making sure every course we publish is clear, accurate, and unmistakably on-brand.

We build courses from a library of reusable, linked content and AI-assisted workflows that help our team move faster without sacrificing quality. You'll work within that system daily, using it to review, refine, and maintain consistency across everything we publish.

This is a quality-focused role. You'll bring systems thinking, an eye for consistency and accuracy across a growing course library, and fluency with AI tools. You'll write content when needed, but primarily ensure course content meets our standards at scale, across insurance, mortgage, real estate, and drivers ed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Edit and write across all of our licensing verticals, working within the content standards and AI systems our team has built to deliver consistent, high-quality education at scale
  • Review course content for brand voice, tone, clarity, accuracy, and instructional flow — going beyond surface errors to assess whether the content actually teaches what it intends to
  • Give clear, specific, and actionable editorial feedback that helps content managers continue to raise the bar
  • Apply and enforce Aceable's style guide and editorial standards consistently across all content you review
  • Write and maintain original course content across verticals when production capacity requires it, working within established templates, playbooks, and the linked content system
  • Make recommendations for systemic improvements in course content development that will reduce editing time
  • Learn and work fluently with Aceable's AI-assisted content workflow, proprietary course authoring tools, and the linked content system
  • Collaborate with designers on content creation, including infographics, scenario illustrations, and study guides
  • Help onboard new content managers by modeling editorial standards and providing early feedback on their work
  • Refine QA processes, editorial checklists, and style documentation

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 3+ years of editing and/or writing experience, ideally in a consumer-facing, educational, or regulated content environment
  • A strong editorial eye that goes beyond grammar. You catch voice inconsistencies, structural problems, and instructional gaps quickly and know how to fix them
  • Ability to internalize and apply a brand voice and style guide across a wide range of content types and subjects
  • Comfortable writing original content from scratch as well as editing and improving others' work
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple review cycles across different verticals simultaneously
  • Clear and constructive written and verbal communication skills. You give feedback that makes people better, not defensive
  • Comfort with AI writing and editing tools and a thoughtful perspective on how to use them well
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently on long-running projects

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience working within a content operations or editorial standards function
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles or adult learning theory
  • Experience editing regulated or compliance-driven content
  • Portfolio of edited and/or authored educational or consumer-facing content
