Job description

Video Editor

The Posting you answered is blw , a few things were added for clarity . You must be a Local Hire . Most editong will be done at the filmmakers home in The  Allendale Neighborhood ; 78757. 

The Week Day Hours will be determined. There presently are no weekend hours .

Posting Below:

*Local Editor (Austin) needed for experimental short doc - proficient in sound & picture & Vimeo uploads , as well as basic wbst development.  Award winning filmmaker - original local Austinite offering p/t temp edit gig for the right individual . This could turn into more edit gigs , but 1st this short film.  Looking for an editor to take over a previous project (major film festival already waiting for 2027 submission. This is an Experimental Doc-Style Short Film. I have a 22 min cut; there's more!   Project Description (non scripted): Pro Human Rights Pro Immigration Pro USA Short Film , shows our best sides, also a true brief history of our other side. Music is extremely important , there will be little to no dialogue .   

Project Details: -Clean Sound , also work with Licensed , Composed & or Public Domain Music.  -Add & subtract latest scenes. -1-2 min trailer (less is more) -upload cuts to Vimeo for editing notes. -upload final cut to Vimeo with notes... -develope basic wbst .*4 hr daily , 4 days during the week , at filmmakers home , edit with director . Possibly some home work , to be discussed when we meet. 

*Easy gig/decent pay for a low budget short art house film ($25 to $45 hour); to start at $25 hourly during Phase One  , “Reviewing All Footage” at filmmakers home . (There will also be a Daily $10 Gas Allowance , when you drive your car to the editing location & or take a Lyft ...) . After we complete Phase One , we can discuss Work Put In & possible pay increase . I'm trying to be fair , I ask that you do the same , after all , the posting you replied to is for , what we believe , is a very poignant short film opportunity for all of us ; We The People (have had enough) . It's up to us artists to resist through love , beauty & peaceful means.

*The film review with editor & filmmaker will happen after the filmmaker does an extensive scene breakdown ; this is already in motion . The filmmaker has an invitation to submit to a major film fest , in 2027. The goal of this film , is to help our fellow CitiZens thru filmmaking . We are patient & compassionate & are also open to possibilities thru PBS , EDU … 

*The 1st Rough Draft of the newest/next edit to be available for review Oct 1st. The Final Cut to be finished  before the 2026 midterm elections . Thank you ❣️
