Editorial Assistant – Full-Time (On-Site)
Location: Fort Pierce, Florida (Treasure Coast)
A growing group of local community newspapers and digital platforms on Florida’s Treasure Coast is seeking a full-time Editorial Assistant to join our newsroom in Fort Pierce. This is an in-office position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused news environment.
What you’ll do:
- Paginate newspaper pages using Adobe InDesign
- Edit, proofread and format stories for print and web
- Write headlines, cutlines and occasional stories
- Post and manage content across social media platforms
- Assist with video creation and basic multimedia storytelling
- Create and maintain e-newsletters
- Help keep our website current and engaging
What we’re looking for:
- Strong knowledge of AP style
- Experience with Adobe InDesign (required)
- Solid writing and editing skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital publishing
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a newsroom setting
- Basic video editing skills a plus
- Photography skills a plus
