Job description

The Norfolk Admirals are seeking a motivated, driven, and passionate student for our Photography Internship during the 2026-27 Norfolk Admirals Hockey Season. This intern will report directly to the Admirals' Broadcasting & Creative Content staff and will be a crucial part of our game-day photography and content team.
The internship will begin in October 2026 and will conclude in April-May 2027. The official conclusion may vary due to end-of-season unpredictability. The ideal candidate has prior experience photographing live sports, an understanding of digital platforms and editing software, and a willingness to work evenings and nights based on the Admirals' home schedule, including weekends and occasional holidays.
Responsibilities:
  • Photograph all live hockey action during Norfolk Admirals home games for use in-house, on social media, promotional materials, website content, and other internal needs.
  • Capture game-day atmosphere, fan engagement, arena entertainment, community moments, player arrivals, warmups, intermissions, and other behind-the-scenes content.
  • Edit and organize photos in real time to generate social media content during games.
  • Provide high-quality photo galleries following games for use across Admirals platforms.
  • Post or assist in delivering in-game photos to Admirals social media platforms promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with the Broadcast and Content Coordinator, the marketing team, and other team departments to ensure consistent, high-quality content.
  • Assist in capturing creative photo content for marketing campaigns, sponsor fulfillment, theme nights, player features, and promotional materials.

Qualifications:
  • Experience photographing live sports. Hockey experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to edit photos quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with all major social media platforms, including Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Lightroom and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding and passion for hockey.
  • Reliable, with excellent technical, time management, and communication skills.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends during the Admirals' home schedule.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and take initiative.
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow as a content creator.
  • Experience with DSLR or mirrorless camera equipment and sports photography settings is preferred.
