Overview

Lumens is seeking a strategic and conceptually driven Editorial Lead to oversee brand voice and narrative development across all channels. The Editorial Lead will shape how Lumens communicates its curatorial perspective—from marketing campaigns and trend reports to product launches and branded content. This role is responsible for driving the monthly editorial calendar and managing its execution month-to-month in close collaboration with brand, creative, marketing, and merchandising partners. This individual will oversee a growing team of copywriters and contractors, ensuring that every word across channels reflects Lumens' elevated tone of voice and aligns with our strategic priorities. In addition to storytelling and messaging, the Editorial Lead will own trend forecasting and curatorial product edits—identifying seasonal design directions and building inspiration-driven briefs that guide marketing and site merchandising. This is a highly collaborative role that sits at the intersection of content, commerce, and culture.

Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

Reporting to: Director, Brand Marketing

Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve the Lumens editorial calendar, including monthly planning and collaboration with the Brand Marketing Director on quarterly vision/content mapping
  • Lead seasonal editorial planning that aligns with product launches, cultural moments, brand initiatives, and customer insights
  • Guide the development of key editorial franchises and campaign pillars across site, email, social, and paid media
  • Manage content workflow and deadlines across multiple teams and contractors
Team Leadership & Brand Voice Ownership
  • Oversee internal copywriters and freelance contractors—providing creative direction, editorial guidance, and brand guardrails
  • Ensure consistency in voice, grammar, tone, and storytelling across all channels and content types
  • Write or refine key messaging for high-impact campaigns, brand moments, and creative briefs as needed
  • Collaborate with Creative, Site, Performance Marketing, PR, and Merchandising teams to align copy with strategic goals
Trend Forecasting & Product Curation
  • Lead seasonal trend research rooted in design, culture, architecture, and interiors
  • Develop and present editorial POVs that shape trend-driven campaigns and product storytelling
  • Curate product selects tied to trend narratives in partnership with the merchandising and buying teams
  • Translate inspiration into actionable briefs that inform campaign planning, content development, and site refreshes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as the editorial point of contact across departments, ensuring messaging and tone are cohesive across brand touchpoints
  • Partner closely with the Art Director and Director of Brand Marketing to ensure copy is aligned with visual direction
  • Contribute to content planning for social media, influencer campaigns, brand storytelling, and thought leadership
Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • 6–8 years of experience in editorial, content strategy, or copywriting—preferably within luxury, lifestyle, interiors, fashion, or media or ecommerce
  • Demonstrated experience managing writers and overseeing editorial workflow at scale
  • Strong editorial instincts, trend fluency, and a background in concept-driven storytelling
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, with experience managing calendars and timelines across departments
  • Experience briefing designers and cross-functional teams
