Apple is seeking a dynamic and experienced Social Editorial Lead to lead the strategic development and execution of a new Instagram presence.This role will join the PR/Corporate Communications team; reporting up through the Senior Director of PR, assuming management responsibilities for a cross functional team of creative, editorial and operational talent.
Description
The Social Editorial Lead will be responsible for shaping the overall editorial strategy for this new Instagram presence, showcasing the best of Apple's design, news, products, and impact in the world. They will curate a unique point of view, investigate and coordinate across the company to source and tell our stories, and drive audience growth and engagement. This role requires a strong understanding of social media best practices, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to manage a high-volume content calendar at the highest levels of taste.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience in social publishing and content creation.
Prior experience managing a worldwide social media handle and/or brand presence on Instagram for major news or consumer-facing brand.
Experience in creator and partner social marketing, working with third party creators and publishers to develop content franchises.
Experience in managing a content calendar and working with content management systems.
Prior experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of social creators, writers and makers.
Experience with social media analytics tools and reporting.
Experience in authoring complex briefs.
Experience in developing and executing social media strategies that drive engagement and growth.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in publishing, journalism, running a newsroom or related fields is a significant plus.
Proven track record of successfully managing a large social media handle or brand presence, ideally with a focus on Instagram.
Demonstrated portfolio of successful social media campaigns and content examples.
Strong understanding of Instagram algorithms, best practices, and emerging trends.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
