Job Title: EDI Integration Engineer II
Location: Seaford, DE
Type: Direct Hire
Job Summary:
System One is seeking an EDI Integration Engineer II for a permanent opportunity in Logistics and supply chain.
This role is responsible for participating with the planning, design, implementation, and support of integration and development projects for company leaders, Team Members, agents, customers, and carriers. The ideal candidate is an experienced EDI professional responsible for the full lifecycle management of EDI solutions within our logistics environment. This role leads trading partner onboarding, manages complex EDI integrations, and serves as a technical resource for internal teams and external partners.
The EDI Integrations Engineer II will also directly contribute along with senior staff and leadership in the development of better practices regarding code quality, application performance, quality assurance, monitoring, metrics, support, and documentation. This position will work closely with the entire Technology Team and provide support to the service desk in response to service tickets, delivering a quick response and resolution of reported support items.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding of new EDI trading partners, including requirements gathering, mapping, testing, and go-live support.
  • Design, develop, and maintain EDI maps and translation configurations for X12 transaction sets commonly used in logistics (e.g., 204, 210, 214, 990, 997).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for trading partner EDI inquiries, issue resolution, and relationship management.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex EDI processing errors, integration failures, and data discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with TMS, WMS, ERP, and other internal systems teams to ensure seamless EDI integration.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including mapping guides, partner profiles, SOPs, and data flow diagrams.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to EDI infrastructure, tools, and processes.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to EDI Engineer I staff.
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and EDI platform evaluations.
  • Ensure EDI solutions comply with partner specifications, industry standards, and internal data governance policies.
  • Support audit and compliance activities related to EDI transaction records.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on EDI experience in a logistics, transportation, or supply chain environment.
  • Proven experience with X12 (ANSI) EDI standards and logistics-specific transaction sets.
  • Experience with EDI integration to TMS, WMS, or ERP platforms preferred.
  • Exposure to EDI software platforms (e.g., Cleo, Sterling Integrator, MuleSoft, TrueCommerce, SPS Commerce, or similar).
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as AS2, SFTP, or FTP.
  • Understanding of logistics or transportation operations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with Jira for ticket tracking and project management is a plus.
  • Experience with Freshservice for IT service management is a plus.
