Position Overview
We are seeking an EDI & Retail Compliance Specialist to own and manage our EDI operations across key retail partners. This role sits at the intersection of order management, logistics execution, and retailer compliance, ensuring seamless transmission of critical documents (POs, ASNs, invoices) while proactively preventing and resolving chargebacks.

This is a highly cross-functional role that partners closely with Production, Logistics, Finance, and external 3PLs, and plays a direct role in protecting margin, ensuring OTIF performance, and maintaining retailer relationships.

Responsibilities

EDI On-Boarding

  • Lead EDI onboarding and setup for new retailer and vendor integrations within SPS Commerce
  • Coordinate with external partners, retailers, and internal teams to test and validate EDI workflows
  • Ensure proper mapping and configuration of documents (PO, ASN, Invoice) during setup
  • Maintain documentation of EDI processes, requirements, and configurations

EDI Operations & Order Management

  • Manage and maintain Twelve's EDI platform (SPS Commerce) across all retailer integrations
  • Review, validate, and process inbound EDI Purchase Orders (POs) for accuracy and completeness
  • Submit and monitor Advance Ship Notices (ASNs) to ensure timely and accurate transmission
  • Generate and submit EDI invoices, ensuring alignment with shipment and retailer requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve EDI transmission failures, including mapping errors, data discrepancies, and connectivity issues
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure all EDI documents align with operational execution and retailer compliance standards

Retail Compliance & Chargeback Management

    • Monitor retailer compliance requirements across accounts (Target, etc.) and ensure adherence
    • Identify, investigate, and resolve chargebacks and compliance deductions
    • Submit and track chargeback disputes through SupplyPike, ensuring proper documentation and follow-through
    • Analyze recurring chargeback trends and proactively recommend process improvements to reduce risk
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to drive accountability and corrective actions across workflows

    Routing Coordination

    • Coordinate and execute routing for cross-docked shipments from our 3PL partners, across various client-retailers
    • Ensure all routing guides and retailer-specific shipping requirements are followed precisely
    • Work closely with 3PLs, carriers, and internal logistics teams to ensure smooth shipment flow
    • Validate shipment readiness against retailer requirements prior to ASN and Routing submission

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Act as the internal EDI SME, supporting Production, Logistics, and Finance teams
    • Partner with Operations to improve upstream data accuracy (SKU setup, labeling, cartonization, etc.)
    • Identify process gaps and implement solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
    • Lead reporting on EDI performance, chargebacks, and operational KPIs

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of deep EDI Retailer experience
    • Proven experience managing end-to-end EDI workflows (PO ASN Invoice) with major retailers (e.g., Target, Walmart, Sephora, Ulta)
    • Experience with SPS Commerce or similar EDI platforms (Preferred)
    • Strong understanding of retailer routing guides, compliance standards, and vendor manuals
    • Experience with chargeback management platforms (SupplyPike preferred)
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
    • Experience working with NetSuite or other ERP systems
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
