Job description

Senior EDI Manager - Transportation Systems
LOCATION: Renton, WA
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt Full-Time, on-site
SALARY RANGE: $115,124 - $135,000
Position Summary
Radiant Global Logistics is seeking a Senior EDI Manager to own the strategy, delivery, and support of our electronic data interchange (EDI) capabilities across transportation operations. This role sits at the intersection of the business and technology: you will lead requirements gathering directly with Transportation stakeholders, translate those needs into technical solutions, manage a development team responsible for building and maintaining EDI integrations, and serve as the primary liaison with our Delta ECS partner/platform. The ideal candidate combines strong EDI/integration technical depth with the communication skills to drive alignment across freight operations, customers, carriers, and trading partners.
Key Responsibilities
Business Requirements & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Lead requirements-gathering sessions with Transportation, Operations, and Customer Service teams to define EDI needs (204, 210, 214, 990, 997, 856, and related transaction sets common to freight/logistics)
  • Translate business processes (tendering, load status, invoicing, appointment scheduling) into clear technical specifications
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal business units on EDI-related questions, issues, and enhancement requests
  • Prioritize and manage a roadmap of EDI initiatives in partnership with business and IT leadership
Delta ECS Liaison
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Radiant and Delta ECS for platform configuration, issue escalation, release coordination, and roadmap alignment
  • Manage the relationship and SLAs with Delta ECS, including regular cadence meetings and escalation management
  • Oversee mapping, testing, and deployment of new trading partner connections through the Delta ECS platform
Team & Delivery Management
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a development team responsible for EDI mapping, integration builds, and production support
  • Set development standards, review work for quality and consistency, and ensure adherence to change management and testing protocols
  • Own the team's backlog, sprint/work planning, and delivery timelines
  • Partner with SAP TM/ECC and integration teams to ensure EDI flows align with broader system architecture
Operations & Support
  • Ensure high availability and data integrity of EDI transactions across carriers, customers, and 3PL partners
  • Own root-cause analysis and resolution for EDI transaction failures, working cross-functionally with Transportation and IT
  • Maintain documentation of trading partner setups, mapping specifications, and support runbooks
  • Support onboarding of new customers/carriers, including EDI trading partner setup and testing
  • Partner with the Infrastructure team to troubleshoot and resolve hosting, connectivity, or platform availability issues as needed
  • Operate effectively in a high-pressure, 24/7 operations environment where transportation and EDI systems are business-critical; participate in on-call rotation and off-hours escalation as required

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in EDI, integration, or transportation systems, with at least 3 years in a management or team-lead capacity
  • Deep working knowledge of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and common transportation transaction sets (204, 210, 214, 990, 997, 856)
  • Direct experience managing or working extensively with an EDI/ECS platform (Delta ECS or comparable, e.g., Sterling, TrueCommerce, SPS Commerce, Cleo)
  • Proven track record leading requirements-gathering with business stakeholders in a transportation, freight, or logistics environment
  • Experience managing a development or integration team (direct reports or matrixed team)
  • Strong understanding of transportation management systems (SAP TM/ECC experience strongly preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to bridge technical and business audiences
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Infrastructure/hosting teams and to perform well under pressure in a 24/7 mission-critical operations setting, including participating in on-call coverage
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in freight brokerage, 3PL, or asset-based transportation environments
  • Familiarity with SAP TM/ECC integration points and data flows
  • Experience with API-based integration patterns alongside traditional EDI
  • Exposure to customer/carrier onboarding processes in a high-volume logistics environment
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent delivery management certification

Work Schedule
  • Full-time, in-office position schedule of minimum 8 hours per day with flexibility to complete all required job duties and responsibilities
  • On-site presence is required to support close collaboration with Transportation stakeholders, the IT integration team, and the Infrastructure team, particularly given the 24/7 operational nature of this role

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Climate-controlled office with a typically moderate noise level
  • Regular physical activity: walking, sitting, handling materials, keyboarding, and reaching
  • Visual demands include close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $115,124 - $135,000
Starting pay reflects education, experience, skills, and job-related knowledge; ranges may be adjusted over time.

  • Company-paid basic life insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • Health Savings Account with company contributions
  • Flexible Spending Account options
  • 401(k) with 3.5% employer match
  • 80 hours of front-loaded sick pay
  • 80 hours of annual vacation pay, increasing with tenure
  • 7 paid holidays per year
