NOTICE OF OPENING: CTE Auto Technology Teacher 6th period (Internal only)
LOCATION: Fitzgerald High School
WORK YEAR: 2025-2026 School Year
SALARY: Per FEA Contract; 10% teaching during prep hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate required: IX or TE endorsement with Interim Occupational Certificate OR
  • Eligible for Annual Occupational Authorization certificate -Achieved with 4000 hours work experience in the Automotive Industry.
  • With the following:
    1.Standard Occupational Certificate or Professional Education Certificate in CIP Auto Technician (ASE Certified) 47.0604.
    2. Or, if no Occupational Certificate, the ability to qualify for Annual Career Authorization(ACA) which requires a minimum of two years or 4,000 hours (within the last 10 years) of recent and relevant paid work experience in the Automotive industry
    3. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification or ability to obtain certification in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Electrical (A6), and Maintenance and Light Repair (G1).

  • Responsible for planning, assessment, and instruction.
  • Implement curriculum according to the Michigan Common Core State Standards and district adopted curriculum.
  • Update CIP self-review and fulfill all State of Michigan CTE requirements annually
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Interpret and use data from ongoing assessments to inform instruction.
  • Participate in professional development and implement best practice.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to improve student achievement in the content areas.
