What is edge fabrication?

Edge fabrication refers to the process of shaping, finishing, and treating the edges of materials—such as metal, glass, stone, or wood—to meet specific design, safety, or functional requirements. This can involve cutting, grinding, polishing, or applying protective coatings to edges. Edge fabrication is commonly used in industries like construction, manufacturing, and interior design to ensure that finished products have smooth, durable, and aesthetically pleasing edges. The techniques and tools used in edge fabrication vary depending on the material and the desired finish.

  • Inspect completed parts using protractors, squares, calipers, tape measures, height gauges, and other measuring tools
  • Verify quality and dimensional accuracy throughout the production process
  • Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Assist with other fabrication and shop duties as needed
Qualifications
Required

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred
  • Experience editing and troubleshooting CNC programs
  • Forklift certification or experience
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Experience in a custom fabrication or job-shop environment
What We're Looking For
  • Someone who takes pride in producing quality work
  • A dependable teammate willing to help others succeed
  • A self-motivated individual who enjoys learning and continuous improvement
  • A problem solver who can identify issues and help develop solutions
  • A professional who values safety, quality, and accountability
