Job description

The Business Development Manager holds a crucial position in advancing our sales and brand presence in the Minnesota. As a primary representative of EDCO, you are responsible for driving sales growth and increasing revenue by strategically managing relationships with one-step distributors, builders/remodelers, contractors, and architects throughout the Metro East side of the Twin Cities. This is a full-time, exempt position that can be remote/hybrid within the region.

Customer Relationship Management & Development

  • Act as business liaison between EDCO and its Distributors.
  • Ensure Distributors and/or dealers maintain the proper product mix, marketing tools and inventory levels to properly service the market.
  • Meet regularly with existing customers to understand their current and evolving business needs.
  • Build long term, productive, mutually beneficial relationships with existing and new customers.
  • Collaborate with distributor(s) to identify growth opportunities. May require traveling with distributor representative(s).
  • Investigate and address inventory, or product quality issues.

Market Development

  • Develop a target list of opportunities and prioritizes in order of importance.
  • Develop a strategic plan to investigate and develop these opportunities in a systematic way from largest to smallest.
  • Work directly with the Regional Sales Manager to capitalize on product conversion opportunities.
  • Source sales opportunities through contractors, architects, and design build firms.

Brand Management

  • Build and promote EDCOโ€™s brand awareness within the sales territory.
  • Seek out and attends trade events, dealer shows, architect shows/meetings and become active in professional organizations.
  • Ensure all EDCO presentations are consistent with EDCOโ€™s brand message.
  • Prepare product knowledge presentations that include brand benefit sections to ensure the various sales teams you will be working with understand our product and can articulate our competitive advantage(s).

Business Management

  • Develop a Sales Goal Strategy with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure results are being tracked and success will be achieved.
  • Achieve sales goals while accountable for managing travel and entertainment expense budget within territory.
  • Demonstrate management skills in the areas of leadership, planning, and organization.

Experience & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • 3+ years sales experience
  • A desire to win and persevere through building mutually beneficial relationships with customers.
  • Able to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external customers.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized to strategically grow territory and manage budgets.
  • Possess intermediate or higher PC skills (Outlook, word, Excel, PowerPoint), knowledge of an ERP system and CRM preferable.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within the Greater Metro Twin Cities .
  • Valid Driverโ€™s license and approved driving record
