Job description

Job Overview

Fairview  is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at our Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN.

Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. Located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury, MN, it’s the only hospital in the southeast metro area. Schedule: This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the NIGHT shift, variable schedule and will also work every third weekend.

About the Emergency Department at Woodwinds:

  • 23 beds
  • Average 100 pts per day.
  • Each day is different and the environment is fast paced and collaborative

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes;
  • Developing an individualized nursing plan of care;
  • Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care;
  • Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;
  • Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;
  • Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate;
  • Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;
  • Promoting a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and
  • Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid RN licensure from MN Board of Nursing
  • 1+ years of current ED RN experience 
  • ED Charge experience required
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from American Heart Association, by end of orientation
  • TNCC certification within 12 months of hire
  • PALS/ENPC certifications within 18 months of hire
  • Associate degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • 1- 3 years of RN Experience
