Shift: Nights 7p-7a
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Range

$18.00 - $26.00 per hour 

The compensation range listed above represents the good-faith range Cary Medical Center anticipates relying upon when making an offer for this position. Starting pay is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and market conditions.


Job Summary:


Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a CNA/ED Tech to join our Emergency Department team.

We are seeking a dedicated professional who is flexible, organized, and able to perform effectively in high-stress situations. In this role, you'll work closely with providers and nursing staff to support patient care, address concerns, and respond to patient needs.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with nurses and physicians as needed to maximize team effectiveness.
  • Maintain fax machine, printers and PCs, while troubleshooting problems.
  • Report patient concerns to the Nurse Manager for follow-up.
  • Courteously interact with all hospital staff, and answer/respond to telephone calls.
  • Obtain and monitor needed supplies/equipment; make recommendations to The ED Nurse Manager.
  • Function as a Certified Nurse's Assistant as directed by Nurse Manager.
  • Assist physicians and nurses in contacting other physicians/offices in any way needed.
  • Actively participate in departmental quality management by completing assigned audits and data collection. Collating data as requested, maintaining knowledge of annual QM plan.
  • Accurately enters orders within CPSI when necessary.
  • Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.
  • Retrieves lab results, medical records, and other pertinent medical information as requested by physicians or nurses.
  • Takes specimens to the Clinical Laboratory as requested.
  • Manages and orders supplies based on established par level system and as needed. Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and effectively function under stressful situations.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
  • Interacts professionally with patients and their families and provides explanations and verbal reassurance as necessary.
  • Retrieves supplies and equipment from Central Supply or other units as requested.
  • Maintains age specific safety precautions.
  • Performs duties/tasks requested by the Nurse Manager.
  • Meet the identified organizational requirements, work habits & promotes a collaborative & cooperative work environment.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned and assists in overall administrative support to the unit.
  • Ability to set priorities, multi-task and work in an organized manner.
  • Complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

Licenses and Education:

  • Maintain a current CNA certificate of the state of Maine.
  • Maintain current BLS certification.
  • Medical terminology not required but desired.

Availability:

  • Depending on the department staffing needs, you may be asked to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
