Description

The Economic Consultant is responsible for independently managing consulting engagements and delivering economic analysis that helps clients solve complex business and workforce challenges. This role conducts economic and labor market research, applies quantitative and econometric techniques, and develops data-driven recommendations that support client decision-making.

Working directly with clients, the Economic Consultant manages multiple projects simultaneously, presents research findings, and contributes to proposal development and thought leadership initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills, sound professional judgment, and the ability to translate complex economic concepts into practical business insights


Essential ResponsibilitiesConsulting & Economic Analysis
  • Conduct independent research on local, regional, and national economic and labor market issues. 
  • Collect, analyze, validate, and interpret quantitative data to support consulting engagements. 
  • Apply forecasting techniques, econometric methods, and economic models to address client business and workforce challenges. 
  • Develop data-driven recommendations based on research findings and economic analysis. 
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and consulting deliverables for technical and executive audiences. 
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable business insights. 
Project Management & Client Engagement
  • Independently manage multiple consulting engagements while balancing competing priorities and deadlines. 
  • Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and client expectations to ensure successful project completion. 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout consulting engagements. 
  • Present research findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders. 
  • Support proposal development and contribute to statements of work for prospective clients. 
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve consulting methodologies, analytical tools, and internal processes. 
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and consulting best practices across the organization. 
  • Support research publications, webinars, and other thought leadership initiatives. 
  • Continue developing expertise in emerging economic research methods, software, and consulting practices.



Requirements

  Required

  • Master's degree in Economics or a related quantitative field. 
  • 2-5 years of experience in applied economics, consulting, or a related analytical field. 
  • Experience applying econometric techniques, forecasting methodologies, and economic models. 
  • Experience managing consulting projects and client deliverables. 
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
