As an intern with First Business Bank,you will gain valuable work experience in a professional environment, leveraging your prior experience, education, and involvement. Our interns play an essential role in the departments they are part of, working on important responsibilities, special projects, and networking with our teams.

Important Information - Internship Length, Hours, & Schedule: This internship will start Fall Semester 2026 and will run through at least the end of Spring semester 2027, with a minimum of 15 hours per week. Flexibility of working hours during the semester will be available between 8am-5pm. Applicant must be able to work from the Madison office 2 days per week.

Internship Purpose:This position will provide an opportunity to work closely with the Private Wealth team of a publicly traded commercial bank, including working with a team of portfolio managers, wealth advisors, and trust advisors.

  • Contribute to research efforts by compiling and analyzing market data relating to macroeconomics, fundamentals, and valuation
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts, contributing thoughts, ideas, and insights derived from data analysis
  • Assist the team in constructing model portfolios and optimizing asset allocation
  • Maintain asset database in trust accounting platform
  • Support trading operations by reviewing trade tickets and booking bonds
  • Support the investment team with project-related analysis and review

Work Model: Requirement for this position to be based out of our Madison office for the summer; therefore, a local candidate is required.

Requirements: Candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business-related field
  • Strong technology proficiency(strong skills in Excel a plus)
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to prioritize work to meet various levels of deadlines
  • Professional attitude with a high level of integrity and reliability
  • Intellectual curiosity about the financial markets and global economic events
  • Previous investment internship experience and/or interest in investments, asset allocation, trading, and modeling a plus
