BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking an Economic Development Analyst, which will support the Appalachian Business Builders initiative by providing economic, market, and industry analysis to inform the creation of a regional Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). The role focuses on regional diagnostics, industry evaluation, and data-driven insights to support the needs assessment, capital access strategy, and business plan development.
Hybrid/remote work environment with periodic travel across Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties in Western Maryland, for engagement sessions and research validation.
Key Responsibilities:
Regional Economic Analysis (Ongoing)
Conduct analysis of regional economic conditions including industry mix, employment trends, and small business activity.
Market & Industry Research (Milestone-Driven)
Analyze key sectors and identify emerging economic opportunities and underserved markets.
Small Business Ecosystem Evaluation (Recurring)
Evaluate support systems such as lenders, incubators, and workforce programs to identify service gaps.
Data Interpretation & Insight Development (Phase-Driven)
Translate economic data into actionable insights supporting planning and strategy development.
Business Plan Support (Deliverable-Focused)
Provide market and economic inputs for the CDFI business plan including demand and target market analysis.
Stakeholder Engagement Support (Continuous)
Support collection of insights during stakeholder engagement activities and assist in synthesis of findings.
Documentation & Compliance (Continuous)
Maintain clear documentation of data sources, methodologies, and findings consistent with project requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience required.
Experience in economic analysis,

Certifications
