The Ecommerce Operations Manager will work directly with Movie Zyng's Managing Director to oversee the day-to-day operation and growth of the business.
This role combines ecommerce merchandising, promotional planning, email marketing coordination, customer experience management, analytics, and operational leadership.
The ideal candidate is an experienced ecommerce operator who understands how to grow a direct-to-consumer business through effective merchandising, promotions, customer retention, and operational excellence.
This position is designed as a long-term leadership opportunity, with the expectation that the successful candidate will assume increasing responsibility over the next several years and ultimately become the primary operational leader of Movie Zyng.

Movie Zyng is one of the fastest-growing internet specialty retailers serving physical media collectors and film enthusiasts. Operated by AV Entertainment, an employee-owned home entertainment company, Movie Zyng offers thousands of Blu-ray, DVD, 4K UHD, Steelbook, and collector-focused entertainment products from major studios and independent licensors.

As our business continues to grow rapidly, we are seeking an Ecommerce Operations Manager who will help lead the next phase of growth and eventually assume responsibility for day-to-day management of the Movie Zyng business.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Ecommerce Merchandising & Promotions
  • Develop monthly and quarterly promotional calendars
  • Identify products and collections to feature in promotions
  • Create merchandising strategies that drive revenue and customer engagement
  • Analyze sales trends and recommend promotional opportunities
  • Coordinate launch plans for new product releases
  • Optimize product collections, category pages, and featured products

Email Marketing & Customer Retention
  • Own the email marketing calendar
  • Coordinate campaign development and execution
  • Work with customer segmentation strategies
  • Develop customer retention initiatives
  • Improve repeat purchase rates and customer lifetime value
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements

Ecommerce Operations
  • Assist with management of the Shopify storefront
  • Coordinate pricing and promotional setup
  • Ensure website merchandising remains current and effective
  • Monitor site performance and customer experience
  • Coordinate with technical resources on site enhancements and integrations

Analytics & Reporting
  • Analyze sales, traffic, conversion, and customer behavior trends
  • Monitor key performance indicators
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion rates and average order value
  • Develop regular performance reporting
  • Recommend actions based on business insights

Customer Experience
  • Oversee customer service operations
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and service levels
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer journey
  • Assist in developing customer loyalty and engagement programs

Team Leadership
  • Coordinate activities of customer service and operational support personnel
  • Work cross-functionally with technology, fulfillment, marketing, and licensing teams

Requirements
Required:
  • 3+ years experience in ecommerce management, operations, merchandising, or digital marketing
  • Experience working with Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities
  • Experience coordinating promotional campaigns
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Preferred:
  • Experience with Klaviyo or other email marketing platforms
  • Experience managing contractors or small teams
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer retail businesses
  • Experience with loyalty, affiliate, or influencer marketing programs
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and ecommerce reporting tools
