Job description

Overview of Job Description:

The Junior Photo Editor/Photographer will work in the studio as part of the photo team that is responsible for creating high-quality product images for sales support materials/documents, web/Ecommerce and packaging. The position will be responsible for technical editing of in-house, ecommerce/web, product photography and catalog. The position is required to meet the timelines for all gift photography from presentation through fulfilment. The Photo Editor/Photographer is responsible for working with the team to create eCommerce/Web images for WCGB/Van’s Gifts, Club and Mass accounts throughout the year. This position is also responsible for contributing to and working with team members on stylized food/product images for packaging.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce a high volume of final digital images while maintaining exceptional quality.
  • Completes edits, retouches and additional adjustments on digital images to ensure required photographic aesthetics are delivered.
  • Ensures images are labelled, organized, stored and archived appropriately upon editing completion.
  • Prepares print and digital files based on project specifications.
  • Photograph all gifts designed in each stage of development (concept through final) for our wholesale and eCommerce accounts for presentation/buy documents, on seamless white backgrounds.
  • Assist with coordinating the workload to meet timelines for Wholesale/Mass Ecommerce account photos to meet customer due dates.
  • Support the Design team with photos of new and existing products/components for development and renderings.
  • Provide Photography support to all account/projects as needed.


Administrative and Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update workload tracking spreadsheets with photo team tasks at various stages.
  • Contribute to propping and styling of web to meet customer and company guidelines.
  • Assist with coordinating and completing the daily photo team tasks.
  • Assist with product styling.
  • Must continue to take courses Photoshop editing courses to develop skill set.
  • Provide supportive tasks during and for Web/Ecommerce and catalog shoots for WCGB and Van’s Gifts.
  • Assist with maintaining photography supplies and arrange for all maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform projects/tasks as directed by management.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Mac and PC
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop)
  • Lightroom
  • MS Office proficient in Outlook, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Canon DSLR cameras and lenses
  • Strobe lighting
  • Food/product photography and product styling.
  • Maintain a high-level of attention to detail.
  • Possess strong time-management & project-management skills.
  • Possess highly proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accept and apply critique and feedback.
  • Ability to self-start and work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Possess strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks without affecting quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure while remaining detailed and flexible with the demands of changing photo requirements.
  • Ability to be creative and offer/bring new conceptual ideas when shooting for web/ecommerce.
  • Ability to manage workflow and volume shooting to meet deadlines and remain on schedule.
  • Must be able to work overtime (mandatory and voluntary) meet timelines for all projects.


Typical Physical Demands:

  • This is a physical job that requires moderate lifting of gifts/baskets, props and lighting equipment.
  • Ability to lift-up to 50 pounds.
  • Create and strike sets for photos.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder for top shots.


Education:

  • College degree BA/BS in Photography or related field or Certificate in Photography and Photoshop.


Experience:

  • 1+ years editing photos for commercial use.
  • 1+ years of digital camera, software and lighting experience required.
  • 1+ years in a studio/office environment.
