Job description

Who We Are

At OluKai, we build premium products for the ocean lifestyle. Our footwear is created using the highest quality materials and crafted into beautiful, functional and incredibly comfortable designs that reflect the spirit of the ocean lifestyle we all enjoy.
We are committed to creating quality products for our customers while leaving the smallest footprint possible on the planet. Our company philosophy is to be environmentally responsible as manufacturers and to pledge OluKai to actively support and work for a clean environment and a better quality of life.
Our customers and staff embody the connection that exists between people and the ocean, it is our Culture. We want to build a team of individuals who embrace this culture, and have a passion for providing premium products and service to our customers.

About the Role

OluKai is seeking an experienced, results-oriented Ecommerce Manager to join our Ecommerce team. You must live and breathe site merchandising and have a deep desire to provide creative and personalized guest experiences. You will own how product shows up online, from launch strategy through campaign execution, conversion testing, and the day-to-day health of olukai.com across web, app, and emerging social commerce channels. This role reports to the Director of Ecommerce.

You will be the subject-matter expert on everything that goes through our Shopify Plus platform and will understand the purpose of each click on your site. You will give insights to the rest of the organization on consumer behavior and patterns related to product preference, merchandising strategies, inventory planning, content creation, and consumer journeys. This is a hands-on ownership role for someone who is energized by detail, moves fast, and is hungry to build a best-in-class DTC experience.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to)

  • Own product launch execution across all sales channels. Build and manage launch plans, on-site timing, merchandising placement, and cross-channel readiness so that every launch lands on time and on story. Bring an obsessive level of detail to product data, taxonomy, tags, and meta fields, and ensure every new style and colorway is set up correctly for search, filtering, and discovery from day one.
  • Own on-site discoverability. Optimize product and collection pages with an understanding around SEO and AEO, metadata, internal linking, and content that earns visibility in both traditional and AI-driven search. Monitor Core Web Vitals and page speed in partnership with our development partners.
  • Partner with Planning to optimize merchandising across our highest-traffic pages. Use product and product-list performance data to sequence assortment on the homepage, PLPs, collection pages, and search, and work with Planning and Buying to align on-site placement with inventory position, sell-through, and demand.
  • Own GTM and ecommerce moment campaigns across our Website, App, and TikTok Shop, end to end: strategy, briefing, and execution. Define the on-site strategy for each moment, write and route briefs to marketing and creative partners, maintain the ecommerce campaign calendar, and act as the primary ecommerce contact for marketing and creative leads through launch and recap.
  • Partner with the Director of Ecommerce on building the CRO roadmap. Prioritize a testing backlog, hypothesize and test user flows, content, and copy across landing pages, PLP, PDP, cart, and checkout, execute tests through our testing platforms, and report results back to marketing and creative teams to grow internal knowledge and inform the next round of work.
  • Manage our ecommerce vendor and partner ecosystem, including App, TikTok Shop, AEO, referral, customer accounts, CRO, and returns partners. Own the working relationship, develop roadmap with the Director of Ecommerce, and hold the Vendors to the standard of quality we set for the guest experience. Partner with Vendors on their newest product offerings with a first-mover mindset.
  • Partner with Dev, Ops, and Creative to drive web projects forward across Shopify templates. Scope and draft requirements for site development, new page templates, optimization, and bug fixing with front-end and back-end developers. Set an extremely high bar for quality and ensure site disruption, site bugs, and negative guest experiences are at an absolute minimum.
  • Manage site content to create branded, conversion-focused experiences, with a mobile-first mindset. Ensure product information is accurate, complete, and genuinely useful to the guest, and that every page reflects the OluKai brand.
  • Own ecommerce reporting and analytics for the site. Build and maintain site scorecards, report regularly on launches, campaigns, best sellers, and test results, and use KPIs to drive change and improvement across the organization. Continuously iterate on the conversion funnel, adjusting flow, payment methods, shipping terms, and product recommendations.
  • Use AI to scale your own output. Leverage Claude Cowork to automate repetitive ecommerce workflows such as product data QA, brief creation, reporting, and site audits, and share what you build so the broader team gets faster with you.
  • Partner cross-functionally as the voice of ecommerce. Work closely with Creative, Brand, Planning, Retail, Wholesale, and Customer Experience to align on the calendar, represent the guest, and keep every team informed on what is live, what is next, and what is working.

Who You Are

  • Entrepreneurial. You see white space and go after it without waiting to be asked. You are comfortable building the process, not just running one that already exists.
  • Relentlessly detail-focused. You catch the broken tag, the wrong swatch, and the missing meta description before the guest does, because you believe the details are the experience.
  • Growth-oriented. You measure your work by what it moved, you are curious about why something won or lost, and you carry what you learned into the next test.
  • Fast-paced. You operate on a retail calendar that does not slow down, you make good decisions with incomplete information, and you know when speed matters more than perfect.
  • Hungry. You are actively teaching yourself the next thing, you follow where DTC is going, and you want to be great at this, not just good.
  • Zero ego. You will build the strategy and you will also fix the product data yourself on a launch day. You share credit, ask for help early, and make the people around you better.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of ecommerce management and merchandising experience, with deep hands-on Shopify Plus experience.
  • Demonstrated experience owning product launches across multiple sales channels, with strong command of product data, tags, taxonomy, and catalog hygiene.
  • Working knowledge of SEO and AEO fundamentals, structured data, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Hands-on experience running a CRO program: shaping the roadmap, executing the tests, and reporting the results. Experience with Intelligems, PDQ, or comparable testing and experimentation platforms is required.
  • Proven experience managing external vendors, agencies, and development partners against scope and timeline, and holding them accountable to performance.
  • Experience briefing and executing GTM or campaign moments across web and app; TikTok Shop or social commerce experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics and GA4, and some knowledge of HTML/CSS. Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and exceptional attention to detail. Experience with Asana is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using Claude Cowork, or a demonstrated ability to pick up AI tools quickly and apply them to automate repetitive work. We expect this role to be AI-forward.
  • Familiarity with G Suite and Photoshop/Figma. Experience with DOMO is a plus
  • Availability to support key launch and peak-season moments, which occasionally fall outside standard business hours.
  • A proven hunger to learn, a bias toward action, and a genuine drive to build and scale a best-in-class DTC experience.
  • A profound love of OluKai and the Hawaiian culture.

Location & Office Structure: This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in Irvine, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week.  Subject to change without notice as per company guidelines.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.

Benefits and Perks:

  • Complimentary chef prepared breakfast and lunch provided Monday - Thursday
  • Generous product gift program and all brand discounts
  • Company bonus program
  • 5 year and 10 year Anniversary gifts to Hawaii and other desirable destinations
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance in accordance with plan guidelines
  • Company paid life insurance
  • 401k with employer match in accordance with plan guidelines
  • 15 Days of PTO plus one additional day of PTO every year on your anniversary and 3 Floating Holidays per year
  • Paid beach and giveback days, bi annual team building events and other in person celebrations
  • Work with talented and great people who share a love of the ocean lifestyle
  • OluKai is a Certified B Corporation with paid company service days
  • Dog friendly office
