Job description

Position summary:
The E-Commerce Shipping Associate is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping merchandise sold through ecommerce platforms, particularly shopgoodwill.com. The role ensures items are shipped accurately, timely, and in excellent condition, while upholding customer service standards. Position will also complete all duties assigned by the E-Commerce Manager or other Leadership Team Members, including the responsibilities shown below.
Essential functions:
  • Pull sold merchandise from inventory shelving with 100% accuracy
  • Examine items for ensure quality and condition prior to packaging
  • Package merchandise securely and efficiently to avoid damage during transit
  • Weigh items to determine proper shipping costs and carrier requirements
  • Print accurate shipping label(s) and apply to package(s)
  • Update order status and shipping details on E-Commerce platforms
  • Load packages into cart(s) and transport packaged orders to delivery area
  • Assists with shipment of unsold merchandise to retail locations
  • Maintains clean, organized, and well-stocked shipping workstation
  • Demonstrates urgency to meet individual performance metrics
  • Supports inventory accuracy by reporting discrepancies or errors to the E-Commerce Manager
  • Assists in maintaining ecommerce shipping supply inventory
  • Demonstrates good time management and multitasking skills
  • Follows all safety protocols, attends monthly safety meetings, and keeps workspace compliant
  • Works cooperatively and respectfully with team members across the organization
  • Adheres to Shopgoodwill’s five-day shipping policy and department guidelines
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to assist in other E-Commerce duties as needed
  • Consistently promotes internal and external customer service
  • Reports equipment malfunctions / errors to the E-Commerce Manager promptly
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and required skills:
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with coworkers and customers
  • Ability to use a computer and shipping software: familiarity with online platforms preferred
  • Attention to detail in packaging and labeling
  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
Education and experience:
  • High School Diploma required; (or its equivalent), though an equivalent amount of training and experience will be considered in lieu of this requirement
  • Prior experience in shipping, warehouse, or ecommerce fulfilment preferred
