About the Job
SRP Environmental/ Excel is seeking a Field Technician. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for in-the-field testing of materials. You will use a company-provided vehicle to travel to job sites in the area. If you have a good work ethic, are reliable, like working outdoors, and can cooperate with co-workers and clients respectfully, this is the position for you.
Duties and Responsibilities:
On a typical day, you can be expected to: ยท
- Travel to various job sites in a company provided vehicle. ยท
- Perform soil sampling, testing, and inspection. ยท
- Document field activity and report the findings to clients and supervisors.
- Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials
- Prepare field inspection/testing technical reports.
- Communicate with existing and potential clients.
- Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- Support management of engineering projects, including project schedules, budgets, and bill of materials.
- Create plans to fix an area's problems.
- Interpret data to find issues.
- Coordinate clients and schedules.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years prior experience as Geotechnical Field Technician- preferred
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record- required.
- Ability to read and write, ability to use a computer (Word, Excel and Outlook) โ required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze data and come to conclusions.
- In depth knowledge of environmental regulations
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to create data capturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to create a corrective plan of action.
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I (a plus)
- NCDOT Certifications (Soils, Concrete)- (a plus)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
