At Capital Cardiology Associates, we are committed to providing exceptional care for patients with heart-related concerns. Our Enhanced Cardiac Access walk-in clinic and Diagnostic Testing departments offer patients immediate access to expert care for cardiovascular issues. We are looking for a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our dynamic team, delivering outstanding patient care while supporting a wide range of diagnostic and clinical services in the field of cardiology.

Position Overview: As an ECA and Diagnostic Testing Nurse, you will play a key role in providing urgent care for patients presenting with cardiovascular symptoms and assisting with various diagnostic tests. You will work closely with our cardiology team to ensure that patients receive prompt and accurate assessments, diagnostic services, and follow-up care in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial patient assessments and take detailed medical histories for individuals visiting the walk-in clinic with heart-related concerns.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic tests, including EKGs, stress tests, echocardiograms, and other cardiovascular screenings.
  • Assist in interpreting diagnostic results and communicating findings to the cardiology team and patients.
  • Provide patients with clear explanations of procedures, post-procedure care, and any follow-up recommendations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care throughout the diagnostic process.
  • Administer medications, provide wound care, and monitor patients as needed.
  • Educate patients about cardiovascular health, preventative measures, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Document patient interactions, test results, and other relevant information accurately in the electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Ensure the clinic environment is clean, organized, and fully equipped for diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families during their visit to the clinic.

Requirements:

  • Active NYS RN license in good standing
  • Experience in cardiology, cardiac diagnostic testing, or critical care nursing preferred.
  • Proficient in performing EKGs, stress tests, and other cardiac diagnostics.
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular conditions, treatments, and diagnostic processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
